For those who are curious, here are the English lyrics to Pule Ho'āo, the Hawai'ian wedding chant I'm using as the frame for Nalowale and Loa'a. I've also marked the lines that I used for each character-centric section of the fic:
Pule Ho'āo (English Lyrics)
The sky is covered with darkness (Ethan)
The tilting clouds begin to part,
The leaning bud-shaped clouds in the sky.
The lightning flashes here and there,
The thunder reverberates, rumbles and roars,
Sending echoes repeatedly to Kuhailimoe,
To Ha'iha'ilauāhea,
To the women in the rising flames. (Kate)
There was a seeking of the lost, now it is found (Claire)
A mate is found, (Claire)
One to share the chills of winter.
The sky is changing, (Locke)
For Hāko'iilani, the house of welcome where rest is found.
Love has made a plea that you two become united. (Charlie)
Here is a perch, a heavenly resting place,
A perch, a perch in heaven.
There is a trembling, a rumbling, a crackling (Jack and Sawyer)
A rattling above, a rattling below,
A rustling of the rolling pebbles of 'Ikuā.
There are sounds of voices in an inhabited house, (Rose)
But what voices are heard in an empty one? (Rose)
You two are now one, (Scott and Steve)
The darkness has begun to depart,
The east is beginning to brighten
For day is here at last!
The night has been made kapu
Until the light of day arrives.
You are wedded! Free (to each other)!
A sample of Keali'i Reichel's version of the pule can be heard here, as well.

Coming in just under the wire before this week's episode of Lost (on the West Coast, anyway), here's Part 2:
Title: Loa'a
Author: Viola
Rating: PG13-ish
Characters: Ensemble, but mostly Ethan, Kate, Boone, Shannon, Locke and Claire
Disclaimer: Not mine. None of it.
Summary: The thunder echoes to the women in the rising flames. (Part 2 of 2; Part 1 is here; Spoilers through ‘All the Best Cowboys...’)
( Ethan is kind to her, kind enough that she almost begins to forget the rough feeling of his hands around her wrists, her mouth, her throat. She almost forgets the sharp, shocked intake of Charlie’s breath and the creak of rope. )
