FRAK.

So I drove to Target this morning and took the bus in from there. Tried to rush for the bus; wound up stepping in mud up to my ankle. Lovely.
CRAZY day. CRAZY. Totally flat-out, all day, no time to breathe, much less check email.
Came back; tootled through Target for a bit. Spent too much, but bought what I came in for plus three cami-tops, two pairs of men's sleep pants (read: Walking around Pennsic Pants!), and three boxes of cereal. Oh, and a pair of winter boots for next year.
AND THEN.
My engine light came on just as I was getting home. Car seems to be running fine. Though it does have 145K+ miles, so it could just be a routine thing.
But FRAK.
Ashleeeeeeey! Why are you doing this to me?!

I just bought myself a lifetime account at LibraryThing. My excitement is almost too much to bear, but I must save some for later, as we are going to Ikea today. To buy a new bookshelf, and some sort of chest of drawers to hold my clothes, which currently live on my floor.
And I have a new Spice Girls biography, which concentrates less on romantic shenanigans and more on business, media and music issues. In other words, the best kind of trashy '90s popstar bio! Hurrah!

The hardest part of deciding to recommend a vid by Mary Van Deusen is not recommending the rest of them. She's got an amazing eye for detail, visual and musical, and has made a fine art of blending lyrics and images to convey new meaning. So I'll admit it, I picked one of the two she's named as her favorites among the Sherlockian collection. Auld Lang Syne is not only a memorial to Jeremy Brett -- it also brilliantly captures the friendship and love reflected in the performances that he and Edward Hardwicke gave of Holmes and Watson. She's also got it in two versions, one of them a high quality rendition that can be played on the television as well as your computer.

Best thing ever happened today. The scene: I am eating lunch in a pub across the street from where I will be living next year. I get on my iPhone to check my email. A random dude sees me do it, hops on Twinkle, identifies my twitter feed, and sends me a suggestion about what to order. This is the computing I want!!

The fic now known as Gotham Nights -- part 4

Finally got Gotham Knight from Netflix and watched it last night... AWESOME. I loved it. The anime artwork was beautiful.
Anyway, in honor of that movie and because I just think this name is too awesome and cheesy not to use for this silly fic, I have christened the Buffy/Bruce series "Gotham Nights." I consulted the google, which tells me that this was also a Batman comic miniseries in the 90s -- so for anyone who already knew that, this story is in no way related to anything found in that miniseries, except for the Batman himself.
This series might end up going on for a while, so in order to avoid flooding my fic tag with snippets of stuff, all entries can be found under the Gotham Nights tag. Eventually I may end up with an actual summary and stuff, even. :P
